Myrtle Animal Rescue & Sanctuary (MARS) exists to provide compassionate, ethical rescue for animals who have fallen through the cracks, prioritizing welfare, transparency, and lifelong support over numbers and optics.
We believe rescue is not about saving the most animals at any cost, but about doing right by the animals in our care. We take in dogs, small animals, and birds who need safety, stability, and time, whether that leads to adoption, long-term foster, or sanctuary.
Through responsible intake, thorough vetting, foster-based care, and honest education, we work to create thoughtful matches and lasting outcomes. Adoption is just the beginning. We remain a resource for our animals and their people for life.
